Description
Backstory
Inspired by classic Sultanabad and Northwest Persian weaving traditions, Mehrab of Light brings together architectural geometry and luminous colour. The central medallion echoes the shape of a mihrab, a symbolic gateway often found in sacred and ceremonial spaces, while the surrounding patchwork-style fields reflect the layered storytelling of village looms.
The palette — soft sky blue, warm gold, faded ivory, and hints of rose — is intentionally optimistic. Traditionally, these colours were associated with prosperity, protection, and clarity, making rugs like this a focal point in reception rooms and family spaces.
Handwoven in wool and finished with a gentle, slightly distressed look, this piece bridges heritage craftsmanship and contemporary interiors, working just as well in a modern apartment as in a more traditional setting.
